The University of Essex LGBT & Friends Society is one of the biggest and best in the UK. Winners of the 2008 NUS LGBT Award for Most Inclusive LGBT Union, and winners in 2010 Best Society Award. The society is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year!

World’s Aids Day 2008
On 1st of December 2008 LGBT soc. led by Ashley Rudge arranged to have HIV testing on campus and a club night to raise money for THT. Both events were well attened! Look out for the giant condom!
