First Term Event’s 2009

OCTOBER – LGBT Freshers Pic & Mix Month

 

Old and new members welcome alike! Try one night or them all! Even bring all your mates along too!

 

Tuesday 13th – l.g.b.t(large gathering to break tension) – 6pm – Meeting LTB Foyer – FREE

First chance to mix with old and new members in a series of fun games then heading down to the SU for drinks and snacks and I chance to chat to your new friends.

The first event happened yesterday and went down a storm! We had a great turn out of around 50 people, most of these people being new to the Society. For anyone thinking of coming along to the events, the success of the first night should be a great incentive. For all those that turned up and made the first event of a new year such a good one, thank you! We hope to see all of you at the next event!! Wednesday 21st – “Roller world and/or Quaser” – 7pm SU bar – £10 approx

After the Success of last year’s trip we have decided to do it again! With over 18’s night it a great time to meet people and have a laugh! Just don’t firer blank or end up bottoms up on the floor!

Sunday 25th – G-Sundays Chelmsford – 9pm SU bar – Return travel £10

With the society attending regular club nights our visit is Essex biggest gay night attracting young people from all over the east of England! Regularly attracting over 1000 clubbers! If you love a night out on the scene you will love this!

Thursday 29th – Film Night – “Pracilla Queen of the Desert” – 6pm LTB foyer

Film nights are a regular event for the society, showing you a diverse range of films with free popcorn and sweets to much your way through. With a lighthearted fun film to start and ending up in the SU bar for drinks after it great way to meet new people.

 

NOVEMBER

 

Monday 9th – Film Night – “Shelter” 6pm – LTB Foyer

A man overcomes his hectic life to fall in love with his friend’s brother in this engaging drama. SHELTER stars Brad Rowe (BILLY’S HOLLYWOOD SCREEN KISS) and Tina Holmes (EDGE OF SEVENTEEN).

Saturday 14th – ON CAMPUS GAY NIGHT – 10pm to 3am  Level 2

With last years event going down a treat, our new termly gay night is only going to get bigger and better so keep an eye out for more details!

Friday 20th – LGBT head to “flirt”! – 10pm SU bar – £5

Chance to meet up, dress up and drink up all in one night with all your LGBT friends! Bring your friends along too!

Wednesday 25th – Film Night – “But I’m a cheerleader” – 6pm LTB Foyer

Very camp, but a sensitive film about a girl discovering her sexual identity

 

DECEMBER

 

Tueaday 1st – World’s AID’s Day – ALL DAY

Wednesday 9th – LGBT staff and Student Lunch – 1pm –  Mondos

Chance students and staff to meet alike in an informal lunch and bridge the gap!
